Saskia\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s 3<sup>rd<\/sup> year proposal for this site is a new development providing a space for the \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcsocially un-welcome\u00e2\u20ac\u2122. The development would include a skate park, hostel and other spaces for urban sports.<\/p>\n<p>For this project Saskia used different coloured acrylics to represent different sections of her proposal.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/b15.humanities.manchester.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/photo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-461 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/b15.humanities.manchester.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/photo-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/b15.humanities.manchester.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/photo-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/b15.humanities.manchester.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/photo-400x300.jpg 400w, https:\/\/b15.humanities.manchester.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/photo.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This type of model is sometimes known as a \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcJewel model\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 due to the illuminated effect given by the coloured acrylics. Commercially this type of model get\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s varied use.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.richardrogers.co.uk\/practice\/model_shop#\">Architects Rogers Stirk Harbour &amp; Partners<\/a> favour this style of model during their design development stages. \u00c2\u00a0Providing the CAD files are set up and drawn correctly this type of model can be a great quick addition to a project, this example took around 5 hours to draw, cut and assemble incuding some trial and error!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This site is currently a car park in Manchester\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Northern Quarter.
